Now to this most beloved of Natural laws. The one Isaac Newton called his 3rd law.
“Every action has an equal and opposite reaction”.
Call it “Gabbage in, Gabbage out” and you won’t be wrong.
Every of our action ( or inactions) has a repercussion that is often times opposite and so equal.
Sit on a chair for so long and you feel the pain.
But I intend to relate this to #MyCountry this morning.
- A country that left the recruitment of her security ( especially the policing agency) to charlatans and their mediocre tendencies. To the sentiments of tribe and nepotism. A country that do not see the need in employing educated and intelligent citizens into it’s police force. That in fact suppress the educational aspirations of her police employees will have not my sympathy when the said force is unruly and do not understand the tenets and importance of the rule of law.
Any wonder our police force treat us like they do? Any wonder they are one of our heaviest burden. To move us forward we will need to ‘unburden’ ourselves with this said force (more on this another day).
A nation whose preponderant economy keeps anyone from making financial sense until you are 45 years and above will have to pay somehow with corruption. Because this age bracket is the age at which the citizens will likely be Directors and Asst. Directors or get some political appointment or get elected into an office, and he has been poor or at least struggling with poverty all his life, but suddenly gets exposed to a lot of money traffic through his office. It will take true upbringing to resist graft.
Now you see that Newton had us in mind when he proposed his 3rd law. If we continue to either actively or passively suppress merit and promote mediocrity, we have no choice but to stop crying about the ‘reactions’ we get from our ‘actions’ or ‘inactions’.
